Christmas, new year, exams. It's been a busy few weeks, but now it's back to normal routine for a good couple of months at least. I like my normal routine.

"The rockiest road leads to the highest summit"
2012 is gone. I could be telling you all of the wonderful things that happened for me last year, but I'm not. It was actually the negative experiences and low points that made 2012 significant for me. If things had gone "perfectly" I would not have learned any of the valuable lessons that I did. I would still have my head up my arse and would not appreciate the people I have around me and what they do for me.
This isn't a sob story, nor do I want sympathy, I'm thankful for everything that happened and am very excited to move on. 2013 looks to hold a summer of racing, training, travelling, leaving school and growing up (practical jokes aside). I don't normally do New Years resolutions, but this year it's simple - be happy and get results.

Been at St Mary's university, Twickenham this afternoon doing V02 max testing and lactate profiling courtesy of the Triathlon England London academy. Blood, sweat and tears - literally!

ROADTRIP!
Having such a good weekend with two of my favourite triathlon friends, Sophie Coldwell and Ellen McArthur at Ellen's house in Wetherby, Yorkshire. Today we took a lovely day trip to Whitby beach. We did a non-wetsuit sea swim, in Yorkshire, in November! FREEZING I think is the word...

Tree dodging
Had so much fun this morning, throwing myself down muddy hills on a mountain bike with the Optima racing team lot. I think I lost count of how many times I almost hit a tree or almost went over the handle bars!

Arena league = all time favourite
Arena national swimming league is always the highlight of my winter competition schedule. Rushmoor royals took our second win in Canterbury tonight, equipped with our green face paint, green nail varnish, and frying pans!

New season new blog
Welcome to my blog! I'm not an essay person, so will try to keep it short and sweet. Winter training is underway which means plenty of long muddy runs and rides. I'm really excited about this winter and next season, the frustration of not being able to race during 2012 through injury has given me plenty of fire in my belly.
